Lester Oden

Lester Earl Oden Born August 9th, 1946, lost his battle with cancer on Thursday April 2nd. 2020. He was the founder and President of MTO Motor Leasing, Inc. for the last 35 years.  He was preceded in death by his parents Ray Oden Sr. (dad) and Perlie May Kirk (mom) .  He is survived by Linda Lampkin (longtime companion), Todd Oden (son) his wife Gina Oden and their son Michael Oden and one brother Owen Ray Oden. Lester had many accomplishments and a passion for drag racing.  Lester raced for many years and was an accomplished driver in the modified production classes in the late 60's and early 70's. He was the Southeast Gasser Association 2017 Crew Chief of the Year and owner of the World Championship winning car.  Lester was very much a self-made man. He founded and owned many successful businesses through the years such as United Waste Control, Wee Finance Auto Sales, Oden and Son Custom Cars, Better Business Builders, MTO Motor Leasing, Inc., Buyers Financial Service, Southern Boat Sales, Energy Efficient Lighting, APS Auto Parts and Salvage, 70th. Street Cafe, Oxford Auto Auction, LTO Investment Corp, He was loved by all of his Family, friends and Employees and will be truly missed. A Family only graveside service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, Alabama with Pastor Steven Weems of First Baptist Leeds will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to the American Cancer Society.
