Lester Balentine

Lester H. Balentine, Jr., age 72, of Moody, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who loved his family,friends and loved college football, especially Alabama. Mr. Balentine had worked in the plastic industry and retired as plant manager after more than 40 years of service. After retirement he enjoyed working at the Distribution Ctr. In Moody for the past 6 years. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Virginia Nix Balentine. He is survived by his daughter, Denise Alvis (David) of Trussville; son, Kenneth Balentine (Gina) of Chattanooga, TN; step-mother, Mae Lois Balentine of Georgia; step-sister, Rhonda Balentine of Florida; grandchildren, Taylor Balentine McMonigal, Kenzi Balentine, Carly Alvis, Connor Alvis, and Gino Balentine; great grandchildren, Matthew, Braden, and Ryan Scott McMonigal; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 1-2 pm at Jefferson Memorial Abbey Mausoleum Chapel in Trussville. Graveside service will be in the Abbey Mausoleum at 2 pm at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East with Father Bill Lucas officiating. Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home directing.
