Lester Milo Alsabrook, 82, of Leeds passed away on Monday, August 11. He was born in Louisiana and moved his family to Alabama in 1961, a World War II Veteran who fought in Iwo Jima and was part of the first to enter Tokyo Bay for the surrender of the Japan Empire. He retired in 1990 from Cummings of Alabama, a member of Valley View Baptist, and an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. Mr. Alsabrook will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a great role model for his children/grandchildren teaching them of his unwavering faith in God. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14 from 12:00 - 2:00 with chapel services beginning at 2PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence. Survivors include his wife, Rosalie, his daughters, Jeannie Greer(Ray), Lillian Glenn (Bill), Janette Davis (Tony), and Renee Hodge (Larry); his son, Danny Milo Alsabrook (Tammy); one step son, Frank Columbia(Lisa) and one step daughter, Denise Montgomery(David); Twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Valley View Baptist Church in Leeds. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
