Leonil Hayes

Leonil "L.A." Anderson Hayes of Pinson, AL passed away November 10, 2017. L.A. was born June 8, 1924 to the late Robert Leslie & Lonette Hayes in Lancaster, Tennessee where he grew up.

He was a WWII veteran where he honorably served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Hayes Air Craft after 38 years of service. He proudly displayed his good work ethic and never missed a day of work.

L.A. was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Ann Hayes; sisters, Inez Hayes and Mildred Schannault; brother, R.D. Hayes.

He is survived by his son, Steven D. Hayes (Ann), of Gainesville, VA; daughter, Julie H. Crane (Chris), of Warrior, AL; five grandchildren, Rusty Hayes, Brandi Hayes, Mandy Hayes, Matthew Crane (Mercy) and Jeremy Crane; two great grandchildren, Slade Russell Hayes and Zoe Jane Crane; one sister, Barbara Hobson, of Nashville, TN; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville on Monday, November 13th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14th at Jefferson Memorial Chapel.
