Leonardo Martinez

September 14, 1932 — December 14, 2023

Leonardo Eusebio Martinez has passed at age 91 on December 14, 2023, in the state of Alabama under the care of his children. He was brought here after having a heart attack in September 2023 to be cared for by his children. His home was in San Antonio, Texas, where he lived for about 23 plus years. He was born in Coahuila, Mexico.

He outlived his wife Ubertina Martinez Meza and his daughter Maria de Jesus Martinez Meza. He leaves behind 10 children, Irma Martinez Meza, Manuela Martinez Meza, Eusebio Martinez Meza, Roberto Martinez Meza, Lassara Martinez Meza,  Jose Efren Martinez Meza, Ana Maria Nancy Martinez Meza, Luis Armando Martinez Meza, Maricruz Martinez Meza, and Cesar Magdaleno Martinez Meza. He also leaves behind 26 grandchildren and 52 great grand children.

Leonardo was a wise and knowledgeable man. Knowledge that came from his many traveled adventures, travels in which he earned a living to provide for his family. One thing that he was known for were his stories that he loved to share, stories that left us rolling in laughter. He had a way of making us laugh and that is something we will forever cherish.

Leonardo was of a giving heart, in his years of life he helped hundreds of people in many ways, including monetarily. He was of a very strong and hard character due to him holding on to lots of hardship from his upbringing. And it was something that was quite noticeable. But those who truly got to know him and be in his presence know that he had a huge heart. His happiness was the great grand babies and his animals. In his younger years, he had a farm and in his last 4 years of life enjoyed having and reliving the presence of farm animals on his land for him to admire, thanks to his grandson Jose Martinez. He enjoyed sitting on his front porch watching them graze in the front yard. And any time he was with with the grand babies his face was visibly bright and cheerful.

In his last years of life he opened his heart, if only just a peak. It was the greatest gift he leaves behind. As well as his example of strength and courage. He fought a good fight against his ailment.

He is loved by his family and will be eternally missed.
