Lenward Mccombs, Sr.

Lenward Earl “Len” McCombs, Sr., of Wilsonville and formerly of Huffman, AL passed away November 20, 2021. Len was born January 7, 1932, in East Lake, AL. He was a graduate of Woodlawn High School, a US Army veteran, and retired from Bell South after 40 years of service. Len was a former member of Huffman Baptist Church and current member of Wilsonville Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and taught Sunday School. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Dot Savage McCombs; his parents, Mattie Lee Powell and Lonnie McCombs, and stepfather, Roy Dellinger. He is survived by his sons, Len McCombs, Jr. (Theresa), John McCombs (Lisa), and Dan McCombs; grandchildren, Ilene Fielder, Leigh, Mary, Kayleigh, and Lacie McCombs and two great grandchildren. A graveside service for Len will be held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, AL on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Brother Steve Thomas of Wilsonville Baptist church will preside over the service.
