Leland Arthur Holcomb passed away at his residence in Springville, Alabama on Monday January 26th. He was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Springville, Alabama. He served as Sunday School Director, Youth Leader, Head Usher and Treasurer. He was an avid reader and loved American History and pottery. He was employed with the City of Birmingham from 1953 to 1985 and served as the Chief Warden of the Birmingham City Jail and retired in 1985 as Captain over the North precinct in Birmingham. He served in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his wife Sue Carraba Holcomb and Son in law Billy Webster Rhudy. He is survived by daughters Rosemary Rhudy of Springville and Karen Hand (John) of Highland Lake and 6 Grandchildren and many Great and Great-Great Grandchildren. Services will be Friday January 30th, at 7 pm, at Springville Gospel Assembly Church. Visitation will be from 5 pm until service time. Graveside services will be Saturday at 10 am, at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, Alabama. Rev. Clyde Sharber will be officiating. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
