Lattle Edmond Owensby, known to many as Bro. "O" and Big Daddy to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bro. "O" was born June 26, 1923 and went to be with the Lord on May 4, 2009. He was a very caring man who touched many lives and a faithful Christian the biggest part of his life. Serving his country in the United States Army during WWII and later he retired from U.S. Gypsum with 25 years of service. He was preceded in death by his brother, Royce, his daughters, Shirley Melvin and Barbara Armstrong. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Flossie; three daughters, Linda Bryant (Freddy), Diane Burt (Paul) and Teresa Self (Mark); one son, Ronnie Owensby (Beckie); two sons in law, William Melvin and Charles Armstrong; eleven grandchildren, Pam Funderburg (Rick), Jo Allison Acklin (Matt), Chuck Armstrong (Cindy), Brian Bryant (Stacey), Traci Smith (Todd), Kevin Bryant (Jennifer), Tifney McBrayer (Dennis), Ronnie Owensby II (Jessica), Melanie Meacham (Michael), Sandy Hanson (Chuck) and Sherry Pugh; twenty great grandchildren and one on the way. Big Daddy leaves with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren a Christian heritage that is worth more than silver or gold. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 6 beginning at 6:00 PM i�½" 8:00 PM at Bradford Sanctuary of Praise. Services will be held on Thursday, May 7 at 11:00 at the church with Rev. Carson Fagan, Rev. Bill Ridgeway and Rev. Stanley Owensby officiating and burial to follow in Bethel Methodist Cemetery in Pinson.
