Kristen Leigh Crabtree, 41 years old, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Birmingham, AL on July 13, 2012. She was of the Presbyterian faith. She was the beloved daughter and sister of Carolyn Crabtree (Chattanooga, TN), Jim Crabtree (Stevenson, AL) and Kim George (Mobile, AL). She is also survived by her Uncle Robert (Gail) Beebe and cousins Greg and David Beebe (PA)
Kris was born in Huntsville, AL on August 5, 1970 but lived in Stevenson, AL until 1988. She was a cheerleader throughout high school and was a member of the 1987 Homecoming Court. As a senior, Kris was selected to represent Stevenson High School as a member of Youth Congress in Washington, D.C. Upon graduation, Kris attended Auburn University. She "believed in Auburn and loved it" and was a die-hard Auburn fan until the day she died.
Kris was a very sensitive, compassionate, generous and loving person who would help anyone in need. She was a voracious reader, music buff and animal lover. Her "kids"a�"Hannah, Dudley and Mollya�"were the loves of her life. She enjoyed horseback riding, gardening and decorating her home. But, most of all, Kris loved to travel! She loved Paris and Rome and the tranquility of the beaches of South Waltona�"especially Seaside, FL. A memorial service for Kris will be held Friday, July 20, 2012 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home located at 1591 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, AL 35235.
