Kenneth “Jerry” Vines, 81, of Trussville, AL, died in Trussville on June 27, 2024. He was born near Camp Lejune, NC on May 15, 1943, to Lucille Beverly and Kenneth C. Vines and lived most of his life in Alabama. Jerry attended Woodlawn High School, where he was a “Warbler” and played football, before studying accounting at Univ. of Alabama and Samford University. He married soon after college and had 2 children from that first marriage and later married Patsy (Robertson) and helped to raise her 2 children from a previous marriage. Jerry worked most of his career at Compass Bank for over 30 years as a systems analyst where he retired. He was a patriot and loved his country and was very involved in the political process and the NRA. Jerry enjoyed hunting and was a firearm enthusiast. Retirement was mostly spent enjoying time with family where he was a loving “Papa” to all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jerry is survived by his wife Patsy; his children Lauri (Mark) Phillips, Stuart (Rona) Vines, Kathy (Chris) Guarino, Scott (Mary) Robertson; grandchildren, Carolyn Grace Phillips, Luke (Hannah) Phillips, Chandler (Jacob) Robinson, Jackson (Ashton) Vines, Hanssen (Jessie) Jones, John Jones, Chase Guarino, Caroline (Brad) Price, Mary Lawrence Underwood, Kylan Robertson; great grandchildren, Brayden Jones, Birdie and Kit Price, Leighvi and Chesney White. Pallbearers; Danny White, Brad Strickland, Hanssen Jones, John Jones, Brad Price, Jackson Vines. Honorary Pallbearer, Brayden Jones Service will be at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville on Tuesday July 2nd at 2:00PM, family visitation 12:30-1:00, friends’ visitation 1:00-2:00. Mark Enoch, Executive/Worship Pastor, Ridgecrest Baptist Church will be officiating the service.
