MCALPIN, KATIE MAE PHILLIPS 80 of Jasper passed away on December 17, 2011. Mrs. McAlpin was preceded in death by her parents, James Earl and Lissie Butler Phillips; daughter, Glenda Gail Putman; daughter and son in law, Deborah Kay Bailey & Ronald; sons in law, Charles Kenneth Collum and Samuel L. Rothe; daughter in law, Lisa Yancey McAlpin and grandson, Stephen Rothe. Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years, James Hoyet McAlpin; children, Darwin Hoyet McAlpin, Karan Sue Smothers (David), Dennis Lee McAlpin (Karen), Donna Jo Collum and Melissa Ann Hanks (Harold); one sister, Mary Akers; sister in law, Doris Virginia Landers; 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 19 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.
