Kathryn Woodson

Kathryn Boone Woodson, 85, passed away Sat. Feb. 28, 2015. A native of Mississippi, graduated from Mississippi University for Women in 1951, later received her Masters from UAB. Moved to Birmingham, Alabama in 1967, taught 3rd grade at Center Point Elementary until she retired. She was a long time member of 1st Baptist Church Center Point. She and her late husband John T. Woodson enjoyed traveling and Mississippi State ballgames. She enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with her church family. She was preceded in death by her husband John Woodson, parents Nettie Easter and Daniel R. Boone, and brother Dan Boone. She is survived by her children Lynn W. Paulin (Phillip), Julie W. Ozley (Randy), Stacie W. West (Donnie), sister in laws Norma Boone, Mabel Woodson, grandchildren Adam Barlow (Nichole), Daniel Ozley (Kristi), Mandy Ozley Sisson (Colby), Amy Ozley Pritchett (David), Brandon West, Angela West DeMarco (Justin) and 7 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Chapel services will be held on Tuesday, March 3, at 2pm with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Pastors Steve Parr, David Huffstutler, and David Haynes will officiate. Visitation will be from Noon until 2pm Tuesday. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
