Katherine Jackson

Katherine H. Jackson (102) of Hayden, Alabama passed away on March 20, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie A. Jackson; her parents; her sisters, Sara Hill, Edna Smith, and Pauline Hill; and her brother, D. Stanley Hill. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Jackson (Carolyn) and Larry Jackson (Mary); 7 grandchildren, Matthew Jackson (Alice), Cynthia Jackson, Joel Jackson, Sarah Jackson, Steven Jackson (Lisa), David Jackson (Susan), and Katherine Donnithorne (Jeffrey); and 6 great-grandchildren, Fletcher Olson, Gabrielle Olson, Ann Monroe Jackson, Otto Jackson, Jackson Donnithorne, and Elijah Jackson; and numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives. Born October 22, 1911 to David Jeremiah Hill and Ada Osborne Hill, she graduated from Hewitt High School in Trussville, Alabama. During World War II, she and Arlie married and she worked as a riveter on airplanes while he served overseas. She loved her family and worked hard to help in its support. She was a master gardener, a talented seamstress, and a professional beautician. She was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Corner Road (Corner, Alabama). Funeral service will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Monday March 24, 2014 at 1 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Jefferson Memorial East Cemetery (Trussville, Alabama). Visitation will be held at Mt. Zion prior to the funeral service, from noon - 1 p.m. She was beloved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
