Katherine Brechin

Katherine Hoffman Brechin, age 88, of Irondale died on March 26. She was a member of Irondale United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her parents Phillip G. and Emma J. Hoffman; her sisters Marilyn Arnold and Lenora Hardick; and one brother George Hoffman. In fulfilling her role of wife and mother she was active at Irondale Junior High School from 1954 - 1968 in the role of PTA volunteer and room mother. She was active at Irondale United Methodist Church in the roles of Choir Member, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher and other committees. She is survived by her husband John Bryce Brechin; sons John Bryce Brechin Jr. (Constance), James M. Brechin (Jo), and Donald Keith Brechin(Sheila); grandchildren Amanda Leigh Gosnell(Andrew), Lauren Elizabeth Cain(Andrew), Leslie Michelle Brechin, and Allison Claire Bacon (Justin); and a great granddaughter Eleanor Katherine Cain. Services will be held at Irondale United Methodist Church on Sunday at 3:00 pm with a visitation starting at 1:30 pm. Burial to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Irondale United Methodist Church. Jefferson Memorial Trussville will be directing.
