Juanita Hamilton Milstead passed away on December 10, 2013. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. Juanita taught in the Birmingham School System for 35 years, received a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Master's Degree from Birmingham Southern College, and a AA Degree in Education from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She was a member of the Honor Society, Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, Theta Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, secretary of the Huffman Neighborhood Association for a number of years, and a faithful member of Huffman Baptist Church where she served several years on the board of Adults with Seniority. She loved to travel and went on many trips in the United States and aboard with the church and other groups. Juanita was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Edward H. Milstead, her parents, Jessie and Parker Hamilton; her sister, Inez Brazil, and her brother, William P. Hamilton, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Michael W. Milstead (Valori) of Tuscaloosa, William E. Milstead (Patricia) of Birmingham and Douglas P. Milstead (Margaret) of Atlanta; grandchildren, Jennifer Milstead, Chase Milstead, Shannon Milstead, Earl Reagan, and Sean Reagan and friend, Jack Cowart. Services will be on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 12:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
