Joy Elizabeth McWaters Limbaugh

age 81 of Steele, Alabama passed away January 18, 2014. She was a member of Steele United Methodist Church and the Gallant Homemakers Club. Joy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert E. Limbaugh; and their three children, Brenda L. (Pete) Bryant, Phillip R. (Allison) Limbaugh and Pamela L. Murphy; grandchildren, Pete L. Bryant, Douglas G. Bryant, James Benjamin Murphy, Phillip Zachary Limbaugh, Robert Tyler Limbaugh; four great grandchildren; brother, John I. McWaters; Sister, Hildred Jo Alexander; and many nieces and nephews. Joy was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed gardening, cooking, and quilting. Her love for family and friends was limitless. Her passion for Christian service was evident through her years she spent as Sunday school teacher, participating in women's ministry and involvement in the PTA. As a breast cancer survivor, she enjoyed making quilts and caps for patients receiving cancer treatment. She also made blankets for NICU infants. When Joy saw a need, she always did her utmost to provide comfort and compassion. Services will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 10:00am at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. The services will be presided by her nephew, Ralph Lyles.
