Joshua “David” Walker, 27, of Trussville, AL, passed away on November 20, 2024. He was born on February 20, 1997.
A 2015 graduate of Hewitt Trussville High School. After graduation, David attended Auburn University. David went on to work for the Birmingham Humane Society, where his love for animals was evident in everything he did. Whether it was helping stray dogs and cats find their forever homes or caring for his own precious cats named Amos, Naomi, and Daffney—David's heart was always with the animals. He also enjoyed fostering numerous kittens and cats over the years, giving them a safe place until they found their own homes.
When he wasn't spending time with his animals, David loved gaming and diving into all things technology and science. He was always up-to-date on current events and eager to debate and share his opinions on anything from politics to pop culture.
David is survived by his mother and stepfather, Maurie and Brent Smith; his grandfather, John McCray; his aunt, Kim Holt (Matt); his uncle, Scot McCray (Shannon); and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Virginia A. McCray
