Joseph Mcsweeney

Joseph McSweeney, age 84 of Alabaster, AL passed away on August 21, 2014. He was a member of North Shelby Church of Christ. Joe served his country as a Parachuter in the Korean Conflict, 1950-1953, for the 101st Army Airborne Division. He honored his family, establishing a beautiful home with laborious hard work, high morals and a never ending great sense of humor. We will miss hearing his stories, seeing him working the land, cutting down trees and especially the gleam in his eye. He was a "Good Man" and a faithful Christian. We love you Joe. He is survived by his wife, Myrna Loy McSweeney; children, Joey McSweeney, June King, Danny McSweeney, and Jim McSweeney; sisters, Betty Gilliland, Peggy Odom, Joyce Keel, and Hazel Mullins; grandchildren, Dylan McSweeney, Cale McSweeney, Alisha Mitchell, and Madison McSweeney. Services will be on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. David Haley will be officiating over the services. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
