Joseph C. Martin, age 87, born on September 1, 1926 was called to be with his Lord on March 20, 2014. He was a member of Brewster Road Baptist Church. He worked as an iron worker for Steel City Erection. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph C. Martin, Sr.; his wife Carrie King Martin; two brothers, Vincent "Bo" Martin and Fred Martin; one sister, Eva Riddle. He is survived by one brother, Charles Martin (Lucille); two sons, Wade Martin (Brenda) and Don Martin (Rhonda); grandchildren: Jamie Bardof (Brian), Amanda Work (Scott), Bethany Martin and Bradley Martin (Kayla); great grandchildren: McKenzie Martin, Jaxon Work and Madeline Bardof. Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 22nd at Jefferson Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The committal service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East immediately following the chapel service. Brother Dane Davis is officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Brewster Road Baptist Church Lawn Fund 1661 Brewster Road Birmingham, AL 35235. Jefferson Memorial in Trussville is directing.
