Campbell, Rev. Joseph Wayne age 85 went home to be with the Lord on April 20, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Dewey and Annie Belle Campbell. As a veteran of World War II, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. After the Navy he was employed at Lamson & Session as a scale clerk/time keeper. While working at Lamson & Session, he surrendered to God's Call into the ministry. In serving at First Baptist Church, Tarrant, he started and was pastor of Bush Avenue Mission in Tarrant. Through the years, he was pastor at Glennwood Baptist Church, Morris, Al, Trafford Baptist Church, Trafford, Al, Edgewater Baptist Church, Edgewater, Al, Macedonia Baptist Church, Margaret, Al and 25 years at Inglenook Baptist Church, Birmingham, Al. He also held services at the Jefferson County Home, Ketona, AL. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maurene Campbell, two sons Frank (Ruth) Campbell, Joe (Ann) Campbell, two daughters Kathy (Thomas) Garrett, and Debbie (Barney) Schmidt, ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, three sisters Sara Schramm, Mary McCullough, Pat (Jerome) Cato, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on April 22, 2011 from 5 to 7 P.M. A Celebration of Home Coming will be at the chapel of Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on April 23, 2011 at 10 A.M. Dr. Earl Tew, Dr. Joe Campbell, Dr. Brad Moseley, Rev. Harold Sinclair, and Rev. Richard Statham will be officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
