Jonathan David Edwards

Jonathan ("John") David Edwards of Springville, AL died on Wednesday, April 13, 2023. 

He was born to Rev. Ernest E. Edwards and Rev. Priscilla (Munson) Edwards on November 22, 1951, in Newton, New Jersey.

In his childhood, John lived in Hackettstown and Mt. Ephraim, New Jersey; and Westfield and Hornell, New York. In his adult life he moved to Alabama where he lived until his passing. 

He worked many years as an over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed working on radios, hunting, fishing, taking his boat out on the river, and doing artwork. 

John loved the Lord and experienced His grace and mercy in a special way, particularly throughout the final years of his life. 

He is predeceased by:
his grandparents, Loren and Dorothy Edwards and Jared and Charlotte Munson;
his father, Ernest Edwards;
his brother, Mark Edwards; 
and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by:
his mother, Priscilla Edwards of Springfield, MO;
his brother, Daniel Edwards of Springfield, MO;
his brother, Philip (Marcia) Edwards of Rochester, NY;
his sister Lois (Doug) Olena of Springfield, MO;

his son, Gregory Edwards (Cindy) and grandson Gregory and granddaughter Jessie;
his daughter, Tammy (Edwards) Bynum (Brian);
his daughter, Shawn (Edwards) Ferrell (Dee) of Walnut Ridge, AR and granddaughter, Hannah, of Wynne, AR;
his son, Michael Edwards (Johnnie) and grandson Joshua and granddaughter Hannah;
his son, Steve Edwards (Kelli) and five grandchildren;

his uncle Jerry (Kathy) Edwards of Hornell, NY;
and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and other family members. 

There will be a private family memorial, and he will be laid to rest at Jefferson Memorial Gardens (Trussville, AL) on April 20, 2023.
