Jonah Andrew Rothe born March 27, 2001 was called home to be with our Christ & Savior on November, 17, 2014. Jonah was a young man full of life, curiosity and love. He always had a smile on his face and a song in his heart. He brought joy to the lives of everyone who knew him. Jonah came to know the Lord as his personal Savior in 2012 and expressed a desire to serve God by becoming a missionary. He loved to hunt with his father and brothers, attending youth camp & church, spending time with his friends and family, playing his guitar and drawing. But most of all he LOVED to snuggle with his daddy, as we all knew Jonah was a Daddies Boy! Jonah will always be remembered best for his smile and friendliness. His heart was tender and loving! Most importantly, Jonah was a child of God who desired to serve God with all his heart. He would have wanted his life to be a testimony of God's saving Grace & Mercy; I Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Jonah was a homeschool student through Faith Christian School. Before homeschooling, Jonah attended Mountain View Baptist School where he played basketball for the Mountain View Eagles. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Pell City, Alabama. And a student of music at Jeff Galey's School of Music. Jonah is survived by his parents Jason & Heather Rothe, brothers Joshua Shelton, Jayson Paul and Daniel Stephen Rothe, sister, Lacey Hemphill Rothe, uncle Timothy Allen Rothe, Wesley Marler and Brandon Marler, aunts Dorothy Jackson (Dale), Kristy Martin, Jill Bowlin (Phillip) Brandy Hallman (Darren), Mollie Martin Hernandez (Nicolas), grandparents; Gloria Barron, Charles Marler, Mark Martin, Glen Putnam, great grandparents, Hoyt McAlpin and many cousins, aunts and uncles whom he absolutely loved and adored. And his church family, Pastor David Wood (Rosezanne), Daniel Wood (Bethany, Faith, Joseph) and so many others who have loved him as his own since the day he took his first breath. He is proceeded in death by his grandfather, Samuel Lee Rothe, grandmother, Glenda Gail Putnam, great grandmother Katie McAlpin, great grandparents James & Juanita Barron, uncles, Charles Paul Marler and Samuel Stephen Rothe. The funeral service for Jonah will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Jefferson Memorial Chapel.
