John Michael Tidmore

Funeral Services for Mr. John Michael Tidmore, age 72 of Gardendale, will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Noles officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining gardens.

Mr. Tidmore passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Around 1:00 A.M., he was called home to be with our Lord and Savior. Born and raised in Alabama, he worked as a Meat Representative for Piggly Wiggly for many years until retirement. Mr. Tidmore was a dedicated husband, father and worker. He loved the Lord, his family, his work family and friends. An avid Alabama fan, he loved watching football, basketball, baseball, softball and women’s basketball. He enjoyed going to Topgolf with his family, cutting grass for his neighbors and talking about Jesus. Mr. Tidmore was known in the neighborhood as being the “Gummy Grampy” and playing Santa Claus for Christmas. Coaching basketball and softball was a passion of his, and he found joy in helping others throughout his life. From his son, James, “He was and always will be known as the man that I am more than proud to call my Father. A wonderful husband to my mother and a hero to many.  He has filled our lives with his unconditional love and kindness.  He has brought us so much joy and his love has been more than sufficient.  Please keep my mother, Juanita Moode Tidmore, and our Family in your prayers as we grieve the loss of this Amazing Man of God.  Dad would not want us to be sad, he would want us to celebrate with him because his fight is over and he now is victorious in Christ Jesus.  He would want me to tell y’all thank you for loving him and he cannot wait to see you again one day.  Thank you again for the calls, texts and posts of support and prayers.  Love you all tremendously!”

He is survived by his wife of several years, Juanita Moode Tidmore, his son, James E. Tidmore (Crystal), numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reggie Eugene and Dorothy Tidmore, his sister, Regina Tidmore Thacker, his brother, Benjamin Craig Tidmore, Sr., and his nephew, Benjamin Tidmore.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. until service time at 12:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.
