John Smith

John Frank Smith, age 83 of Birmingham, AL passed away on August 12, 2017. Mr. Smith was born on May 8th, 1934 in Birmingham, Alabama to Willie James and Rosa (Bass) Smith. He served in the United States Air Force and is a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Smith's family and friends were his pride and joy, always sharing pictures and stories; he had so much love for each and everyone. He is survived by his children, Avis D. Kind, Regina S. Thompson and Reginald J. Smith (Cheryl); brother, Harold C. Smith, Sr. (Mary Francis); grandchildren, Nikkita Harden (Christopher), Matthew Kind, Antarius Smith (Jacquese), Ashley Imsand (Nicholas), Kimberly Kind, Alexandria Thompson, Gabrielle Kind, Reginald J. Smith, Jr. "RJ" and Christian Naomi Smith and 5 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends. Public visitation will be on Wednesday, August 16th from 5 to 7 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be on Thursday at 10 AM in the chapel and the burial will follow at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo at 1:15 PM. Pastor Lawrence Conaway will be officiating over the services.
