John Lee ("Jack") Segers, Jr. died peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2014. Jack was born on November 24, 1934 and attended Hewitt High School, graduating in 1955. He lived almost his entire life in Trussville and began his career as a bricklayer at the young age of 16. Jack volunteered at Hewitt High School on Friday nights as a member of the "chain gang" for over 25 years. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John and Theadus Segers; a son, John Lee Segers, III; his in-laws, Louis and Alvina Graham; a brother-in-law, Larry Sinor; and nieces Tina Allen and Cindy Graham. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of more than 57 years, Glenda Graham Segers; a son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Marcia Segers; the love and joy of his life -his grandchildren - Chance and Alana Segers and Cody Segers; a sister, Kitty Sinor; brother-in-law and his wife, Glenn and Rose Graham; and nieces and nephews, Jackie and Mike Patterson, Tammy Cousins, Jeff Graham, Beth Graham and Amelia Byrd. The family would like to thank Southern Care for the gentle, loving attention they provided to Jack until the end of his battle. Visitation for Jack will be on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following at 12:00 noon at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
