John Rains

Johnny Rains: Johnny died peacefully Saturday

afternoon, March 30th at home surrounded by his family. He

was 59 years old. He had Progressive Supranuclear Palsy,

which is similar to Parkinsons Disease, and he had been

fighting it for many years. He was a graduate of Jones Valley High School and later graduated from Jacksonville State University where he

married Alisa Woods also a Jones Valley Alumni. After

graduating they lived for fifteen years in Orlando Florida

where Johnny worked for the Lake Buena Vista Convention

Center at Walt Disney World. Alisa and Johnny were married

for thirty three years. He is survived by Alisa ; two fine

sons, Max and Jack; his Mother and Father, Kitty and Jack

Rains; his brother and sister-and-law, Fred and Faith Rains;

his sister Becky Rains Pitts; and many nieces and nephews.

He was a quiet and unassuming man with a dry sense of humor,

loved by his family and respected by those he came into

contact with. We will miss him so much. The services were held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, Alabama on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 12:00 PM with visitation an hour prior to services. Burial to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Contributions to Affinity Hospice in Johnny's name would be appreciated. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
