John Overstreet

John L. Overstreet ,69, passed away
peacefully surrounded by loved ones on January
27, 2023. John was born January 14, 1954, in
Birmingham, AL. John is survived by his wife
of 50 years, Patricia Overstreet and his two
sons, John David Overstreet (Casie) and
Michael Overstreet (Michelle) and three
granddaughters Brooke Overstreet, Rylie
Screws and Peyton Screws. Three sisters Billie
McDowell (John), Rosalind Breed (Bobby),
Donna Pilgrim (Jim) and a host of nieces and
nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents,
William David and Elsie Overstreet. Two
brothers William David Jr and Thomas, three
sisters Etta St Clair, Sally Huddleston, Sharon
Darquenne.

John was also known as "Poppy" to his three
grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and
spending time with friends and family. He
retired from Butler manufacturing in
Birmingham. John "Poppy" will be missed by
his loving family and beloved dog "Lillie".

Visitation will be Tuesday January 31, 2023
from 12:00-2:00 p.m. followed immediately by
a service at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home
and Gardens in Trussville. Officiated by Brother
Paul Campbell.
