John Johnson

John E. Johnson, "Sarge" of Palmerdale, Al passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at the age of 75. He served in the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart, he also served in Vietnam. While serving in these two wars he received numerous medals and commendations. He retired in 1972 after 21 years of honorable service in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents and on brother. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Earlene G. Johnson, one son John E. "Jack" Johnson, Jr. (Marsha), daughter Denise D. Abbruzzo and 3 grandchildren, Lauren Johnson, Landon Johnson, and Brooke Abbruzzo and 2 step grandsons Chris and Brett Echols. He is also survived by 3 sister and brother in laws and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation is at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Trussville on Wednesday May 20 from 2pm until 3pm with a Military Graveside Service at 3pm.
