John Hughins

John Chester Hughins is at home with the Lord as of July 13, 2015. Mr. Hughins is survived by his wife Elizabeth Murrell (Bannie) Hughins; two sons, James (Jim) M. Ridlehoover (Becky), of Alabaster, AL, and William (Bill) Ridlehoover and Dot, of Pleasant Grove, AL; two daughters, Jonte' Cynthia Vanderlinden (Cindy), Rita H. Wright (Ronnie), of Pleasant Grove; Tom Murrell, of Birmingham, AL, Gary Murrell (Carla), of Anniston, AL; his grandchildren, Rita Lynn Thomas, Vicki Williams, Cindy Ridlehoover, Billy Ridlehoover (LaShawn), James M. (Jimmy) Ridlehoover (Tamara), Johnny Ridlehoover, Jeremy Ridlehoover (Amanda), Chase Wright (Ashley), Chandler Wright (Stephanie), Derrel Vanderlinden, Morina Vanderlinden, Chelsea Vanderlinden, Kelly Ferris (Corey), Andrea Murrell; great grandchildren, Haley Ridlehoover, Drake Ridlehoover, Rachel Ridlehoover, Rebecca Ridlehoover, Trent Ridlehoover, Gage Ridlehoover, Cameron Ridlehoover, Cole Ridlehoover, Kensley Ridlehoover, Travis Brady, Taylor Spradlin, and Ruby Renee Wright. John Hughins also had many nieces and nephews who he loved very much. He will be missed but we will see him one day soon. John Hughins was a Woodlawn High School alumni of 1948. Mr. Hughins retired from ACIPICO after working for 38 years where he worked in the No. 1 Machine Shop. He was known by many names: Papa, Papa Hughins, Papa John, or Ted but, he was well known for being a "Servant of the Lord". He faithfully served and obeyed the Lord everyday of his life. His church home was Broadmoor Baptist until it merged with Union Baptist Church, Lipscomb, AL. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 2:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. In lieu of flowers please make donations to First Baptist Church of Pleasant Grove, AL, for youth scholarships to Camp Dotson.
