John David Henderson, a resident of Trussville, AL, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 21, 2025. He was born on September 14, 1948 in Margaret, AL. After graduating from Hewitt-Trussville High School in 1968, he attended Jeff State Jr College for undergraduate studies. John’s foundation as a life long Christian was developed at Chalkville Baptist Church as a youth.
John loved his family and is survived by his wife Sarah, his son Phillip, daughter in law Michelle and two wonderful grandsons; Hunter and John Conner. He is also survived by two brothers, James (Margaret) Henderson and Jerry Lynn Henderson, a sister Rita Joyce Henderson and two very special nieces; Teff (Nelson) Chan and Annika Henderson. John was preceded in death by his mother and father John and Jewel Henderson.
John received many professional degrees as a NCMA Certified Masonry Consultant and was owner and president of his own company, AlaJon Inc. John was fortunate that he loved his work and his customers who became his close friends.
Philippians 4:13 “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength” was John’s favorite verse which provided him a foundation for his life.
Memorial services for John will be held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens on March 28, 2025. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., graveside service at 2 p.m. A fellowship meal will follow the services at First Baptist Church Trussville (family and friends are invited).
The family request that memorial donations be made to WMU First Baptist Church of Trussville or Samaritan’s Purse.
