Chadbourne, John T. 87, went home to be with our precious Lord Oct. 19, 2008. He was known to man through the years as "Bro. John". Mr.Chadbourne served his country faithfully for 31 years in the US Marine Corps. He served during WWII and the Korean War and was active during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Chadbourne preached the gospel at The Downtown Jimmy Hale Mission for 28 years. He also preached at The New Pilgrim Towers Apartments for many years. He loved to meet and talk to people and never missed a chance to tell someone about Jesus. Mr. Chadbourne was preceded in death by his wives: Mary Ella Chadbourne and Ethel R. Chadbourne. He is survived by two daughters, Virginia C. Len of Birmingham, Ruth C. Parker of Warrior; two sons, John F. Chadbourne of Vine Grove, KY and Charles R. Chadbourne of Clay, AL; a brother George W. Chadbourne and a sister Florence Leonard both of Birmingham; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
