John Anthony Butler

April 16, 1962-Feb. 3, 2015

On February 3, 2015, God received a special angel in Heaven. Tony Butler, also known as, John Anthony Butler, 52, passed away with his wife, Tammy Butler, and his two children, Julie and Heath Butler by his side.

He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather "Paw-Paw" to three beautiful granddaughters, Brooke (13), Haley (8), and Heather (5), and a long awaited grandson, Anthony Fletcher Butler (five months).

He also loved like a father his niece, Brandi La Shelle Jones, family friend, Jonathan McKenzie and his daughter-in-law, Christen Butler. He was preceded in death by parents, Bill "William Fletcher" and Willodean Butler.

Along with his wife, children, and grandchildren, he also leaves in God's hands his three siblings, Debbie Sutton, Bubba Butler and Tammy Butler; as well as, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He fell in love with his best friend, his wife, when he first laid eyes on her 40 years ago in middle school, and left this world still in love.

He was a passionate protector of his family, proud alumni of Erwin High School, and avid fan of high school collegiate wrestling; he enjoyed following drag racing and watching football... ROLL TIDE!

Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 6th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville. The funeral will be at 12:00 p.m. on Feb. 7th at Jefferson Memorial Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East in Trussville. Pastor Doug Ferguson is officiating.
