JoAnn Martin

Joann Martin, 89, passed away on February 25, 2025, in Covington, Georgia.

Joann is survived by George L. Martin Jr., husband; Sheryl Martin, daughter-in-law; Ann Floyd, daughter; Robin Floyd, Son-in-law. Her grandchildren, Marie Martin, Adam Martin, Chad Floyd and Dustin Floyd. Her great grandchildren, Samuel Martin, David Martin, Levi Martin, William Martin, Hailey Floyd, Linley Floyd, Jackson Floyd, Cooper Floyd and Griffin Floyd.

Joann is preceded in death by her parents, William and Imogene Hess and her son, George L. Martin III.

The service for Joann Martin will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. (CST) at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation for family members, at 9:30 a.m. (CST) until 10:00 a.m. (CST) and the for the public, from 10:00 a.m. (CST) until 11:00 a.m. (CST). Burial will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Birmingham, Alabama.

Memorial donations can be made in Joann's name to Church at the Grove. The address is 1050 Walnut Grove Parkway, Loganville, Georgia 30052.

First and foremost, JoAnn loved the Lord! She was a witness to every person she came in contact with. She loved her church family and her immediate family and was so proud of each of them. She loved to cook and to embroider.

JoAnn was married on August the 1st of 1953 to George Martin, commonly known as Lynn, freshly back from the Korean War. She bore him a son and namesake in June of 1955. She added a daughter to their family in July of 1960. They moved in 1964 from Alabama to Georgia for a job transfer with Lynn's company-Ingersoll Rand Company. She was an outstanding sales lady in the wholesale Electrical industry and worked until she was 75 years old! She retired in 2010 and enjoyed working in her yard and her home.
