Jo Anne, age 76, of Pelham passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014. She retired from Alabama Power after 37 years of service as a customer service representative. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Leon Ricks; her parents, Clay and Marzelle Hayes; three sisters: Mary Newman, Betty Robinson, and Ruby Harding; two brothers, Howard Hayes and Frank Hayes. Jo Anne is survived by her son, Marty Higginbotham (Ashley); grandson, Liam Higginbotham; two sisters, Peggy Crawford and Jane Gore; three brothers: Harry Hayes, Robert Hayes (Alice), and Gary Hayes (Pat); and a host of nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Jo Anne will be at 10:30am on Thursday, July 3rd at Jefferson Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Jefferson Memorial in Trussville is directing.
