Jimmy Woods, 84, beloved Husband, Father, Father-In-Law, Grandad, and Great-Grandad, stepped from his earthly home into his heavenly home Tuesday, September 19, 2023 surrounded by family. Jim was born on May 23rd, 1939 to the late Paul and Odell Woods in Nauvoo, Alabama. He was loved by 4 sisters and 4 brothers. He is survived by his wife Beverly Woods; daughter Michelle Kullman and her husband, Bobby; son Jeremy Woods: granddaughter Abby Mauldin and her husband, Drew; and Grandsons Philip Todd Woods and Andrew Kullman and Great Grandaughter Bentley Woods; to which he was known as Pop.
Jimmy served in the Army for 2 years and Army Reserves for 32 years. He retired from the Alabama Power Company after 20 years, previously having worked for Redstone Arsenal and Army Missile Command in the Computer Department. He also taught classes at Leeds High School and many years at Jefferson State. After retiring he went on to work for Buffalo Rock, Colonial Properties, Jefferson County, and Severe Services. He also was a IT consultant for several businesses. Jim loved Alabama football and classic Westerns. He was a long time member of Huffman Assembly and Cathedral of the Cross.
A private memorial service will be held at Jefferson Memorial.
