Jimmie Woods

Jimmie Harold Woods passed away on March 23rd, 2021 at the age of 87. Born in Hayden, AL., Jimmie graduated from Tarrant High School in 1951 and enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served during the Korean War from 1951-1954. Jimmie lived in Huffman the majority of his adult life after his job as a sales manager with Container Corporation of America transferred him from the Chattanooga, TN branch back to their Birmingham office in 1975.

Jimmie is survived by his three sons Gary (Kim) Woods, Scott Woods, and Mike (Joy) Woods.  He was also a proud grandfather to Jared Woods, Austin (Sara) Woods, Taylor Woods, Justin Woods, Noah Woods, Ethan Woods, Tanner Jennings, and great-grandfather to Jade Woods.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Belvia Woods of Tarrant, as well as his brothers Howard Wood of Woodlawn and Billy Woods of Springville.

Jimmie will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father with a gift of storytelling, an ardent Bama fan, and a good friend to those in need.

A small graveside service will be held for family at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville at 12:00 p.m. with visitation held one hour prior at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, March 29th.  Pastor Bobby Erwin is officiating. In lieu of flowers or memorials, just remember to hug your parents and tell them you love them as often as you can, while you can.
