Jimmie Owen

Jimmie Fay Owen died April 10, 2018 after a long fight with Alzheimer’s. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was active in her community of Fairfield, Al while managing the local Fair Oaks Swim Club, Forest Hills Ballpark concession stand as well as caring for Alzheimer’s patients. She loved to sew and was a skilled seamstress and so enjoyed making beautiful wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses but her greatest joy was being a loving grandmother to 9 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Lonnie Parvin and Minnie Bragg, her husband Frank T. Owen, sister Bobbie West (James), sister Johnnie Turner (Neil), son Frank T. Owen Jr. (Sue). She is survived by sister Tommie Ewell (Don), brother Lonnie "Pete” Parvin (Daisy) daughter Bonnie Martin (David), son William Owen (Donna), daughter Judy Kneisley (Martin),grandson Hunter Martin (Kelly), granddaughter Erin Belk(Daniel) granddaughter Holly Kneisley, granddaughter Emily Wright (Chris), grandson Travis Owen (Meghan), grandson Will Martin (Andrea), granddaughter Heather Ryan (Jonathan), grandson Zachary Owen (Casey) grandson Michael Martin (Ashley) and numerous nephews and nieces and great grandchildren. Visitation is at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens, 1591 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, AL 35235 on Thursday, April 12, from 2pm to 3pm. There will be a graveside service for family and friends afterwards. Reverend Butch Williams, Vestavia Hills Methodist officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Jim West, David Martin, Martin Kneisley, Hunter Martin, Travis Owen, Will Martin, Zachary Owen, and Michael Martin.
