Jewell W. Harwell, 93 years, of Birmingham passed away on August 6, 2009. She was born on March 10, 1916 in Woodland, Alabama in Randolph County. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Randy Sandford of Trussville, parents, James V. and Clyde Stewart, brother Walter Stewart, sister, Lora Dobson all of Randolph County, AL., sister Mary Daniel of Lanett, AL., and sister Wilma Nelson of Lagrange, GA. Mrs. Harwell is survived by her two daughters, Jane Poole (Elbert) of Gardendale, AL. and Montez O'Neal (Sinclair) of Mesquite, TX., two grandchildren, Sharon Williams (Tony) and Kenneth O'Neal (Michele) of Mesquite, TX., four great grandchildren, Austin and Andrew Sandford ( their mother Cindy Sandford) of Trussville and Tiffany Bodiford and Gabrielle Williams of Mesquite, TX., one sister, Vicie Jordan of Roanoke, AL., two brothers, Jack Stewart of Opelika, AL. and Winston Stewart of Wedowee, AL., and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a longtime member of the Cathedral of the Cross in Birmingham and was a godly mother who raised her children in the fear of God. Visitation will be held at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville on Sunday, August 9, 2009 from 5:00PM-7:00PM. Chapel funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00AM with Rev. Mark Correll officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
