Jesse Edsel Ford, 94. He was born on July 24, 1916 to Albert Harrison Ford and Ora Dee Lawson Ford and grew up in Salina, KS. He was one of 8 brothers and sisters. Jesse spent most of his adult life in Trussvillle, AL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie Mae Ford (1966) son Jack Brumbaugh (2008) and daughter Terri Ford Williams(2009). He is survived by his son, Jesse Brian Ford (Carolyn) of Bethlehem, GA; daughter, Patsy Beard (Roland) of Moody, AL and daughter-in-law Mary Lou Brumbaugh of Bessemer, AL. He also leaves behind a special lady, Joyce Brown, of Katy, TX who brought much love and joy into his life. Grandchildren: Kristi Ford Torbert (Greg) Bethlehem, GA; Randall Beard (Mindy) Moody, AL; Stephanie Beard Wright (Burke) Ashville, AL; Matthew Brumbaugh (Melissa) Bessemer, AL; Kevin Brian Ford (Jodi) Cumming, GA; Jessica Kearns, Pinson, AL; Amie Lee Harris, Irondale, AL; Wesley Williams, Albertville, AL; Mary Williams, Navarre, FL; Honorary grandson, Brent Swader (Terry) Moody, AL. Great grandchildren: Nicholess, Madison, and Caleb Brumbaugh; Laura, Joey, and Travis Torbert; Olivia and Fisher Beard; Daniel and Brooks Wright; Katelyn Ford; Jessilyn and Micah Woodley; Honorary great-granddaughter Shelby Swader. Jesse was interested in many things but mostly sports, playing Rook, Auburn football, Braves baseball, and fishing. Jesse favorite days were spent at the Trussville and Moody Seniors Centers. As a young man Jesse was an avid golfer and was offered a scholarship to Kansas State University but military service called. He served in the US Army during WWII and was a part of an armored tank division in the European Theatre. Jesse worked at Jim Clay Optical for 61 years retiring 2 years ago. Prior to Jim Clay he worked for American Optical for 7 years. Jesse loved his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 17 beginning at 9:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Chapel services at 10:00 AM and burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
