Jerry Stearns

Jerry W. Stearns, age 65, of Pelham, was born on May 1, 1949 in Tallassee, AL and passed away on December 13, 2014 in Alabaster, AL. He was a teacher and coach, who dedicated his life to molding the children that he taught into young men and women. Mr. Stearns was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd Dale Stearns and Myrtie Louise Ledbetter Stearns; and his two brothers, Jim and Ken Stearns. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diane Stearns; his son, Shane Stearns (Delina); his daughter, Amy Wade (Scot); and his grandchildren, Clay and Emma Stearns, and Dalton Dean. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 2pm at Jefferson Memorial Trussville, with Pastor Konan Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JRDF).
