Jerry Scott Van Horn, 85, of Center Point, Alabama passed away on November 6. Jerry was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia to Troy Scott Van Horn and Macel Marks. He moved to Birmingham in 1951. Jerry is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Jane Goode Van Horn, his brother-in-law, Kay Eugene Goode (Linda), his daughter-in-law, Connie Bailey Van Horn (Alan), two grandsons- Robert Scott Van Horn, William Blake Van Horn, a granddaughter, Jennifer Van Horn Cox, and his nephew, Raymond E. Goode. He is survived by his children Jerrie Van Horn Paschal (Norm), William Scott Van Horn (Tina), Alan Lee Van Horn (Janice) and James Gregory Van Horn (Cindy); Grandchildren, Alicia Van Horn, Phillip Van Horn (Charlotte), Jerry Scott Van Horn II, James Wesley Van Horn (Kristin), Great Grandchildren, Christian Van Horn, Caitlin Van Horn, Milo Blake Van Horn, Austin Cox, Alex Cox, and Ashlyn Cox, and a nephew, Weldon Goode ( Melody). Jerry worked for 33 years at VCM Sales. He was a Mason and served as a youth coach at Wahouma Park for many years and led his team to a Little League World Series Victory in 1964. Jerry was a lifelong fan of classic cars and belonged to the Hudson Essex Terraplane car club. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 9, at 12pm at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to your favorite charity.
