CARR, JERRY A Jerry Austin Carr, 78, of Vidalia, GA, (formerly of Birmingham AL), passed away February 12, 2012 after an extended illness. Jerry was born December 17, 1933 to George W. and Evelyn Carr. He was retired from Southern Company Services in Birmingham AL where he was a Civil Engineer. Jerry served in the Alabama National Guard and the US Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Douglas Carr. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Carroll Carr of Vidalia GA; daughters, Debbie Jarvis (Ralph) of Trussville AL; Lynn Robertson (Tim) of Alabaster AL; Ann Jarvis (James) of Pinson AL; Tonia Mitchell of Vidalia GA; Teffany Mikell of Center Point AL and Carla Diane Carr of Vidalia GA; grandchildren, Erin King (Philip), Philip Jarvis, Amanda Reed (Ashley), Adrienne Butts, Tim Robertson, Jr., Krista Doss (Keith), Alan Jarvis (Jordan), Michael Jarvis, Kristen Brantley (Chase), Chelsea Mitchell and Mason Mitchell; great grandchildren, Peyton and Ryan King; Alexis and Austin Reed, Kelsey Butts, Maddox Robertson, Taylor and Kyndal Doss, Lilly Jarvis, Gage and Kailen Brantley; former wife, Peggy E. Carr of Birmingham AL and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel Services will be held on Thursday, February 16 at 2:00 PM with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
