Jerome Covington

Jerome Covington died too young on 10/25/21.  He was 61.  He is survived by his loving wife, Jenny Covington; children, Katie Covington Smith (Edward), Karly Tyson Carroll (Jeffery), Jake Covington (Emma), Ryan Tyson (Cassie); grandchildren, Isla Rose Carroll and Edward Reed Smith; numerous brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and their children.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Sr. and Ruth Covington.  Jerome loved creating and building things out of nothing.  He worked in the flooring industry for more than 40 years and was passionate about his work.  He was fiercely proud of his Italian heritage and spent numerous hours tracing his family roots.  He had a wicked sense of humor, he laughed easily, and his family thinks of him (with big smiles) every time they hear the song “Wild Thing.”  A visitation will be held on Saturday, 10/30/21, at 11:00 a.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with a funeral service following at noon.  Jerome’s desire was that all gather after his death and have a joyous celebration of his life.  His life celebration will follow the funeral service.  Details will be available at the funeral service.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama.
