Rena Sams, 46, of Trussville, Alabama reached for the outstretched hands of Jesus on September 30, 2011. Rena's love was for others, and that type of love goes on forever because when you experience that kind of love, it has to be shared. Rena was preceded in death by her son, Michael Ray Barnes; her niece, Bailey Reid Swader; her father-in-law, Rev. T. R. Sams; her mother-in-law, Margaret Sue Isdell Sams; and her brother-in-law, William C. Hurt, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Joseph Sams; her sons, Christopher Alan Bartholomew, Brandon Chase Bartholomew, Nicholas Judson Sams and Andrew Jerrod Sams; her granddaughter, Kyleigh Grace Bartholomew; her parents, Gerald Mead Brown and Barbara Robertson Brown; her sisters, Tommy McIntyre Barnes and Terrace Brown Swader; her brother, Dewey Lance Brown; her daughter-in-law, Sadie Angel Sams; her brother-in-law, William Brent Swader; her sister-in-law, Rondia Sams Hurt; her nephews, Jeremy Alan Barnes, Jarred Cody Barnes, Jason Leon Biddy (Brooke Vines Biddy), and Robert Joseph Hurt; her nieces, Julia Claire Brown, Shelby Wren Swader, and Elizabeth Hurt Newton (James Thomas Newton, III); her great-nephews, Brayden Cody Barnes and James Thomas Newton, IV; and her great-nieces, Ava Reese Biddy and Ella Rae Biddy. Visitation will be held Monday , October 3, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services with be held Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with interment at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
