Doug also founded his magazine "Southeastern Art Showcase" in the late 1980's showcasing beautiful art from several artists. Doug was a member of the Purchasing Association and the Choir Directors' Guild. He served a 4 year tour in the Army, 2 of those years spent in Germany with the 101st Army Airborne Division. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Ruby Kite and one brother, Ronnie Kite.
