Jay Caston

Jay Derek Caston passed away unexpectedly on Thursday April 29, 2021, at the age of 58.

He is survived by Celya Lynn Caston his wife of 34 years and his amazing daughters Nicole Elizabeth Caston (age 29) and Valerie Lynn Caston (age 24). He was preceded in death by his loving parents Beatrice Dolores and JC Caston. Derek is survived by his brothers Steve Mers, Justin Caston, and Kregg Caston along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Derek was born in Stuttgart, Germany. He graduated with an associate degree from Jefferson State Community College and worked as a product design manager at US Pipe. On May 30, 1987, he married his soulmate, Celya. Derek enjoyed designing and building 3D parts and working on RC cars. He loved his family and especially a game night, Alabama football, and his dogs -- Norris, Nelson, and Cashew. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, May 2, at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens in Trussville, Alabama.
