Jan Wilson

Jan Nichols Wilson, age 77, of Vestavia Hills, AL passed away on August 2, 2023. She was born on September 4, 1945 to Nick and Nickie Nichols and grew up in Union Springs, AL. Jan graduated from Union Springs High School in 1963 then went on to Troy State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science.

Jan had a passion for educating others and was a schoolteacher for 25 years before retiring in 2005. She was a devoted daughter and loving mother. Her family was her true priority and she enjoyed vacationing with them. Jan loved going to Alabama football games and cheering on the Tide.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Butch Nichols. She is survived by her loving daughter, Tricia Wilson Felgner (Charles); her two grandchildren, Ryan and Andrew; her sister-in-law, Carole Nichols; a niece, Jeanne Nichols Parks (Ronnie) and a nephew, Mike Nichols; she also leaves behind a great niece, Aly Nichols and extended family and friends.

The family would like to express great appreciation to caregiver Cathy Watkins for the excellent care and support she provided to Jan. We would also like to thank her Hospice team, Tiffaney and Jackie, for their exceptional care, as well as Pastor Marlon Ellington who served as Jan's Hospice Chaplin.

The funeral service for Jan will be held on Friday, August 11th at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with visitation for friends and family held one hour prior to the service. A private burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial's adjoining gardens.
