A lady always knows when to leave, and Janice Davis Miller, being a lady, entered fully into the presence of the Lord on Thursday January 25th, 2024. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Luke and Isabelle Davis, Burt Reach and Emily Reach Smith, parents, Therman and Camilla Davis, brother Therman D “Bubba” Davis and granddaughter, Hannah Grace McCay.
Born, October 1, 1948, Janice was a 1966 graduate of Tarrant High School, studied English and Accounting at Jefferson State Community College and worked as a bookkeeper/accountant until she retired.
She was a member of Robinwood Baptist Church where she served faithfully for many years. She loved God’s Word and had a strong faith.
Janice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved spending time with her family and loving on her dachshund puppies. She enjoyed sewing, traveling and any activity shared with the love of her life, Frank. He would say they shared a wonderful life together, not void of a single pleasure, full of love, in need of no change.
We will remember Janice for her loving nature, her playfulness, and her occasional, endearing stubbornness. Her family was her sole focus, sometimes to the exclusion of her own needs. She loved her entire family, despite their quirks. She worried about them, rooted for them, protected them, resented them, forgave them, and always kept on loving them.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Frank Miller, Sr, daughters, Jennifer Bodine (Calvin), Jessica Buckner (Michael), Miranda Johnston (Shawn), and son, Frank Miller Jr (Angie), 10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Glenda Counts (Wayne) and Deborah Melvin Rodda, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Janice would leave you with this: There is a Heaven to gain and a Hell to shun. Jesus Christ came to this earth in the flesh, endured everything imaginable, willingly gave His life to absolve us from our sins, rose from the dead and is seated with God, the Father in Heaven. One day He's coming back. Have you accepted Christ as your savior? Everyone doesn't get 75 years. There's nothing too great to forgive and Love covers a multitude of sin
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 29, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville. A chapel service in her honor will be Tuesday, January 30th, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will conclude at Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
