Janice Isbell

Janice Sorenson Isbell, 68, of Springville, passed away on November 14, 2011. She was born June 22, 1943, daughter of the late Alice and Walter Sorenson. Her father was a Danish immigrant, and she was very proud of her Danish heritage. She was overjoyed when her only granddaughter called her "Mor Mor", which is Danish for grandmother. She was also preceded in death by her husband of more than 25 years, Bennie Isbell. Jan was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Springville where she was treasurer for her Sunday School class. She was also a founding member of Kate Cumming Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy out of Pinson, Alabama. She is survived by her four daughters, Robin Hand (Terry), Sherry Jones (Dennis), Teresa Isbell, Pam Cannon (Frank) and two sons, Jeff Davis (Nancy) and Wesley Isbell (Donna). She had six grandsons and one granddaughter who thought their "Mama Jan" did no wrong. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Services will be on Thursday Nov 17 at 10am in the Chapel with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Dr. Gerald Hallmark officiating. Viewing will be on Wednesday from 5 until 7pm. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
