Janice Hollingsworth

Janice Green Hollingsworth of Center Point, AL went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday September 25, 2021. Born on March 31, 1945 to Louise and Ernest Green, Janice grew up in Jacksonville, AL.

Janice retired from Children’s Hospital of Alabama in 2009 after almost 30 years of touching countless children’s lives with her beautiful smile, warm, caring personality, and amazing skills as a registered nurse.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband of 58  years, Jimmy Lee Hollingsworth, and the other love of her life, her dog, Bandit. Her parents Louise and Ernest Green; and sisters, Berkley Holley and Mary Green; and brother, Leonard Green.

Janice is survived by her four children: Kim Summerford (Benny) of Remlap, AL; Michael Hollingsworth (Dana) of Alabaster, AL; Jennifer Goolsby of Center Point, AL; and Catherine Nevin (David) of Pinson, AL. Sisters, Jackie Hollingsworth (Fred); Annie Lee Roff of Houston, TX  grandchildren, Ashley Summerford, Cory Summerford, Christian Hollingsworth, Jessica Hollingsworth, Tracy McKoy (Tyler), Brooke Newton, Brandon Nevin, William Smiley, and Krysteena Smiley; and several much loved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in Janice’s honor on September 30, 2021 at 10 AM at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, AL.
